They don't need you. That's why you're obsessed.
Cold-blooded animals don't perform affection. No tail wags, no purring — they exist on their own terms, ancient and indifferent. To keep one is to earn something that cannot be faked. We get it. Between us: two snakes, two geckos, two tarantulas, and a Pacman frog who hasn't moved in three days but is definitely fine.
Why Genbuya 玄武 (Xuánwǔ)
the Black Tortoise of East Asian mythology. Half serpent, half shell. Cold-blooded by nature, sacred by design. We named this brand after it because cold-blooded life is not lesser life. It is older, stranger, and more resilient than almost anything else on this planet. Ya is the space where things are kept. Genbuya: the house of the guardian.
What we do
We source gear for reptile, arachnid, and exotic amphibian keepers worldwide — chosen against one standard: would we use it ourselves? If it wouldn't hold up for a Hognose with humidity requirements or a tarantula that's been in the same corner for two weeks, it doesn't make the cut. Not a pet store. Not a starter kit. A supply chain built by keepers, for keepers
Cold-blooded. Not cold-hearted.
